Ohio is for lovers so it makes total sense that Heather and Dave decided to tie the knot at North Bank Park Pavilion in Columbus last month. The two exchanged vows with her sister and his best friend by their sides. Prior to the ceremony, we took full advantage of the picture-perfect venue. Then, we snuck off to get a few more shots at the Ohio Statehouse before dancing the night away at the reception. Congratulations you two – here’s to love, laughter and happily ever after!

Imagine this scenario: You’re living your best life with your family in a mid-sized city/college town. You have had your dream wedding, built your dream home and are working for your dream company. Life is good. Then, out of nowhere, your significant other is approached about a promotion within his or her organization. The only thing you have to do is pick up your perfectly planned out life and move it to one of the largest metropolitan areas in the nation. Just peachy, right?

For the past few months I’ve been MIA with Georgia on my mind! We’ve been busy moving from the 859 to the 404 – home sweet Atlanta! Cue the chaos: from selling our home, packing up our entire house and quitting my job at the University of Kentucky to driving back and forth for job interviews, enrolling the kids at new schools and researching where to live, our world has been turned upside down.

But, we’re officially Atlantans now. Scott is the Manager of Managers in Training with Ted’s Montana Grill. He works downtown at the Restaurant Support Center and in the 43 Ted’s locations across the U.S. The boys are finishing out the school year at Dunwoody Elementary School and Peachtree Charter Middle School in Dunwoody, Georgia. And as for me, I am now a Communications Officer for the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech where I will focus on graphic design and photography.

I have a few other things figured out too: I am now a Braves fan, my favorite place to hang is Ponce City Market, Batter Cookie Dough might make the best dessert of all time, and I’m finally back to blogging!

Here’s to Living the Ritch Life in the ATL.

Oh buoy, the countdown is on! In just three short days we will embark on our first family cruise. We will board the Disney Dream and set sail to our destination, the Bahamas!

We finally shared our big Disney Cruise news with Maddox and Alex on Christmas Eve. We had been keeping their Christmas present a secret for 11 long months. Because the best gifts don't always fit under the tree, we sent the boys searching for clues around our home that ultimately led them to their surprise — a four-night Disney Cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island). Everyone enjoyed the thrill of the hunt!

Clue #1

Here is the first of many clues, work together and you can’t lose. Start by searching where Maddox takes a snooze.

Clue #2

You found it! You’re smart it’s true, now go to Maddox’s desk and look under something that is blue.

Clue #3

Head upstairs you two! The next clue is where we sit back, relax and enjoy the view.

Clue #4

What does Alex put in his backpack? It’s a clue this time, not a snack!

Clue #5

Almost done, the end isn’t far. The next clue is in the trunk of Dad’s car.

Clue #6

A suitcase? Is there a trip soon? Look next where you get a spoon.

Clue #7

Oh boy, what do you think? The final clue is in the room opposite your bathroom sink.

Clue #8

We knew that you couldn’t lose! The Andreen boys set sail in 2 weeks on a Disney Cruise!

It was a memorable moment when the boys read the last clue announcing our trip. The surprise also included letter balloons that spelled out "Disney Cruise," goodie bags, and our Elf on the Shelf, Clyde, who was wearing a must-have accessory for any Disney trip: Mickey Mouse ears.

So, what was inside the goodie bags?

  • Disney Tote Bags, Dollar Tree — $1.00

  • Kids Trip Passport, Letterfolk — $10.00

  • Mickey Mouse Sunglasses, Target (sold-out)

  • Mickey Mouse Flip Flops, Target (sold-out)

  • Mickey Mouse/Donald Duck Kohl's Cares Plush, Kohl's — $5.00

  • Mickey Mouse Candy: Target (sold-out)

The magic continued later that evening when we received a character call from Mickey Mouse himself. He told the boys he couldn’t wait to see them aboard the ship. FYI: Disney Cruise character calls can be scheduled in advance online.

Well, our first adventure of 2019 awaits! I look forward to sharing all of our fun in the sun when we return. Sea ya real soon, Mickey!
